Concierge Security in Toronto & the GTA

Concierge security is a licensed security guard who runs your front desk: greeting residents and guests by name, screening every visitor, receiving parcels, booking amenities and move-ins, and patrolling the building between arrivals. Secure 24 Seven staffs condo and office lobbies across Toronto and the GTA with PSISA-licensed concierge guards who work from written post orders and file a digital report every shift.

The Desk Ledger

One day at the front desk, entry by entry

A concierge desk earns its keep in the small decisions: who goes up, what gets signed for, which door gets closed. This is how those decisions look once they are written down. Your board or property manager receives the same record digitally, with photos attached.

Hospitality Meets Security

The lobby is the one room every resident, guest and stranger must cross. Whoever stands there decides what kind of building it is.
How we brief every concierge we place

Hospitality, by habit

What residents notice first, and what makes them trust the desk.

01
Names, not suite numbersRegulars are greeted personally, and new owners are learned quickly.
02
A calm voice before a firm oneMost lobby friction ends with courtesy and a clear explanation of the rules.
03
Discretion at the deskWho lives where, who visited and what was delivered stays between the desk and management.
04
Presentation that matches the marblePressed uniform, tidy desk, lobby checked for anything out of place.

Security, by default

What residents rarely see, and what keeps the building theirs.

05
Every entry has a reasonGuests are announced, trades are matched to a work order, unknown faces are asked politely.
06
Nothing goes up by defaultDrivers and couriers meet residents in the lobby unless the resident authorizes otherwise.
07
Doors and cameras on a scheduleStairwells, garage gates and loading doors are walked and checked, not assumed.
08
Trained for the bad hourOntario’s 40-hour basic guard training, First Aid and CPR, and your building’s own emergency procedures.
Choosing the Right Desk

Concierge security, doorman or standard guard?

The titles get used loosely. What matters is what the person in your lobby is trained, licensed and instructed to do.

On licensing: Ontario’s Private Security and Investigative Services Act requires a security guard licence for paid work that consists primarily of protecting persons or property. Whether a doorman role crosses that line depends on its actual duties. Every concierge Secure 24 Seven places holds a PSISA guard licence.

Questions from Boards & Managers

Concierge security, answered

Still weighing it up? Write to [email protected] or ask for a walkthrough of your lobby.

What does a concierge security guard actually do in a Toronto condo?

They run the front desk as both host and gatekeeper: greeting residents, announcing and screening guests, receiving parcels, managing amenity and elevator bookings, and handling trades and move-ins. Between arrivals they watch cameras, walk floors, stairwells and garage levels, and log everything in a shift report. The exact list comes from your post orders, which we write with you.

Does concierge staff need a security licence in Ontario?

Under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, anyone paid to do work that is primarily about protecting people or property needs a security guard licence, and a front desk whose main job is controlling who gets in will generally fall into that category. Every concierge we place is PSISA-licensed and has completed Ontario’s 40-hour basic training, including First Aid and CPR.

Can you staff the lobby of an office tower, not just a condo?

Yes. In commercial lobbies the same desk discipline applies to tenant staff, visitors, couriers and after-hours contractors, with sign-in and badge procedures set by building management. Our commercial and office security page covers the wider program.

How do you price concierge security?

Pricing depends on how many hours the desk is staffed, whether you need one post or several, the size of the building and the duties in the post orders. We start with a free site security assessment, then send a written proposal so the board can compare like for like.

What does the property manager receive from the desk?

A digital report for every shift, covering deliveries, visitors, bookings, patrol findings and any incident, with photos where they help. Urgent issues are escalated by phone right away under the contact list in your post orders, so nothing waits for the morning summary.
